High quality replica oak furniture for museums and collections. This York medieval town house conveys the atmosphere of 1480's and opened to the public in 1993. It began a furniture making career for Adrian McCurdy involving research and close observations of originals with historian and designer Charles Kightly.
Other commissions include the Globe Theatre, The National Trust, The National Museum of Scotland and independent museums in Wales, Scotland and Belgium. The emphasis was always to get close to the feel, character and craft of original furniture and replicate its vitality not its age.
Adrian McCurdy now concentrates on contemporary furniture and wood craft and can be found clicking on website www.adrianmccurdy.co.uk This new work blends essences of ancient wood skills with a fresh approach.
